Straightening should be specified whenever long, slender parts are hardened. CST's stroke controlled 175-ton Eitel press can handle parts up to 8 in. diameter and 100 in. long between centers. Longer, smaller diameter parts can be straightened on rollers and flat work is press straightened on a 50-ton unit. Where press straightening is not applicable thermal, fixture straightening is used.
